Sexual health and emotional wellbeing of adolescent and young adult survivors of haematological malignancies
Ce dossier thématique fait le point sur la sexualité des patients atteints d'un cancer hématologique ou ayant survécu à la maladie
This Comment is linked to The Lancet Haematology Series on Sexual Health in Patients with Haematological Malignancies; we discuss sexual and emotional life for patients with haematological malignancies elsewhere in our Series. Cancer, the side effects of cancer therapies, and changes in body image are often traumatic long-term events for cancer survivors (ie, individuals no longer being treated for cancer and considered to have no active disease), especially for adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients who are still in various developmental processes.1 Some haematological malignancies that are predominant in childhood, such as acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and different lymphomas, might be associated with sexual problems in AYA survivors.
