The role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in treating localized soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) has been controversial for more than 30 years.1 The rarity and heterogeneity of these tumors have resulted in conflicting trial results that have failed to provide a definitive answer, with some of the larger trials reporting no benefit and other, smaller trials showing a benefit for chemotherapy.2-6
