Ultra-low-dose radiation for gastric MALT lymphoma
Mené sur 24 patients atteints d'un lymphome gastrique de type MALT non lié à Helicobacter pylori (durée médiane de suivi : 36 mois ; âge médian : 67 ans ; 63 % de femmes), cet essai pilote évalue l'efficacité, du point de vue de la réponse complète à 1 an, d'une très faible dose de radiothérapie (4 Gy)
Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) is relatively rare, accounting for 7–8% of all B-cell lymph omas. The stomach is affected in about 35% of the cases. Setting up a proper randomised study in such a small group of patients is unfortunately not feasible. Therefore, small, well conducted trials such as the study by Jillian R Gunther and colleagues in The Lancet Haematology are very welcome.
